A Bit about me

I have worked in therapeutic settings in residential mental health charities and more recently in retail health stores. This has lead to me now combining a number of skills and disciplines in my work.

My approach

My approach as an individual and couples therapist is firmly rooted in psychodynamic principles, but is also informed by a holistic and person centred outlook. I love being a therapist and the experience each therapeutic journey teaches me.

My Education and experience

Post Graduate Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. WPF Therapy London.

Post Graduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Theory and Practice. WPF Therapy London. Accredited by the University of Roehampton.

Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy. WPF Therapy London.

Bachelor of Arts (Honours) University of Nottingham.

My Services

Individual counselling

I tend to work weekly and on a medium term basis with clients (1 to 2 years on average) but I work in an open ended way leaving the client to decide when they are ready to stop or have less frequent sessions (this is a popular choice to stagger an ending by meeting fortnightly). Sometimes it is better to agree a timeframe of 12 or 16 sessions for more focused work.

couples counselling

Sessions are usually fortnightly but can be weekly. The best outcome tends to come from a couple who can identify and work on an agreed shared goal or goals and when respect and appreciation for the others experience is acknowledged, explored and given value.
